Frequently Asked Questions
We've put together a list of the most commonly asked questions to help you in your search for a professional Process Server. This is not a replacement for a good old fashioned conversation. We are always happy to talk with you regarding our services.
We would also like to mention we are not lawyer's or a law firm, we don't practice law and we don't give legal advice.
Why Choose Express Legal Services over other process serving companies?
We do our best to get the job done right and as quickly as possible. We are competitively priced in our market and we've developed strategies based on experience to ensure successful service in a timely manner.
How do I place an order?
We accept orders via email, mail, fax or if your office is in the Atlanta area we are happy to make arrangements to pick up your documents.
Do you require your fee in advance?
Generally, the industry standard is fee in advance however, we like to be flexible and make decisions on a case-by-case basis. Usually we charge first time customers in advance and invoice repeat customers after a relationship has been established.
When will the first attempt be made?
We offer Routine Service and Same Day Attempt. Routine service means the first attempt will be made in 1 to 3 days. Once we have your document in hand, we fold it in with the cases we are currently working on, so the first attempt could happen on the same day the document is received. Same day attempt means we will make the first attempt the same day we received your documents.
How many attempts are included in your routine service fee?
We include 3 attempts for all service levels. Our fees are based on distance and time, so in order to price our services competitively and pay our servers well, 3 makes the most sense. Generally, 3 attempts is enough to get the job done.
How long does it take to serve an individual?
Tough question. Every case is a little different. We often are able to serve an individual on the first attempt while others take more than 3. The majority of our cases are usually served within 1 to 4 days.
What time of day is the first attempt made?
Unless you provide us with details about an individuals schedule, we usually make the first attempt after 5:30 pm. We try to be as smart about when we make our first attempt as possible. According to labor statistics more than 80% of the U.S. population works between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.. Obviously, nothing works every time which is why we include 3 attempts with our routine service.
Do you serve documents on weekends and holidays?
We've found Saturday's to be a great time to find people at home and regularly serve documents on Saturday. We try not to work on Sunday's, but we will if the individual case requires special handling, or the individual is evading service.
We are closed and will not serve documents on:
Easter
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Years Eve
New Years Day
